Sound in Sculpture returns April 17, with a dynamic performance of new music inspired by Eamon Ore-Giron's Tras los ojos (Behind the Eyes). Now in its ninth year, the program showcases original compositions written and performed by students from the Butler School of Music, in response to art in Landmarks' collection.

This year, composers include Deniz Aslan, Ashton Cartwright, Josíah Garza, and Cecily Shield. The music will reflect a variety of styles and arrangements, with instruments ranging from percussion and trombone to flute and oboe.

The performance will be held in the lobby of the Sarah M. & Charles E. Seay Building where Ore-Giron’s work is sited. Visitors may park at the Speedway Garage, adjacent to the Seay Building, or at any other available UT garage.
