Landmarks Video: Sigalit Landau

Landmarks Video presents DeadSee (2005) by Sigalit Landau. Landau works in a variety of media, from performance and video to sculpture and installations, in which she physically and conceptually transforms her materials. In DeadSee, a cord penetrates five hundred water melons forming a large spiral raft in the saturated salt waters of the Dead Sea. As the spiral unfurls, the artist floats while locked inside the spiral layers between the center and the periphery of the raft.
